Account and passkey security on BorrowHive
A passkey lets you sign in to BorrowHive with the device security you already use, such as a screen lock, fingerprint, or face check.
Your device creates a unique credential for BorrowHive and sends us a signed result after you approve the sign-in. It does not send us the fingerprint image, face image, or device PIN used to unlock the passkey.
Why passkeys can be safer than codes
Passkeys are created for a specific website or app identity. This makes them resistant to many fake-site and copied-password attacks. A passkey also removes the need to create or reuse a password for BorrowHive.
Passkeys do not make an account impossible to compromise. Keep your device lock enabled, install device and browser updates, and remove a BorrowHive passkey from Account Security if you no longer control the device or credential.
What you can see
In Account Security, you can see a passkey's name and, when available, when it was created or last used. You can also rename or remove it. A passkey name is only a label to help you recognize the credential.
Passkey sign-in is separate from identity verification. It helps protect your account; it is not a government-ID check, background check, credit check, address guarantee, endorsement, or guarantee of safe behavior.
If a sign-in looks wrong
Use Account Security to review and remove passkeys you do not recognize. Contact support@borrowhive.com if you cannot regain access or believe someone else used your account.
Do not send passwords, device PINs, one-time security codes, government-ID images, selfies, or full payment details through support forms, email, chat, or BorrowHive messages.
