Identity verification privacy and redaction
This article explains BorrowHive product behavior. It is not legal or tax advice, and it is not a safety guarantee.
Stripe Identity is BorrowHive's launch provider for verified-person checks. BorrowHive keeps identity verification separate from asset-label mailer verification, address checks, payout onboarding, and verified inventory.
What BorrowHive Keeps
BorrowHive stores non-PII verification status, provider name, provider livemode flag, provider session references, safe failure categories, timestamps, review status, redaction status, and audit events. BorrowHive may also store a non-PII verified-person snapshot on checkout, tax, owner policy, evidence, settlement, and support records.
BorrowHive should not store raw ID images, selfies, full document numbers, biometric templates, client secrets, hosted verification URLs, Stripe verified_outputs, or raw Stripe Identity webhook payloads.
Redaction Requests
When an account-deletion or privacy request covers Stripe Identity sessions, BorrowHive requests Stripe Identity redaction and records a minimal retry handle until Stripe confirms redaction. Failed provider redaction attempts appear in the support/admin queue for retry.
Staff may retry redaction from the operations surface, but must not ask members to send ID photos, selfies, full document numbers, or provider screenshots through ordinary support forms, email, chat, or BorrowHive messages.
Do not send ID photos, selfies, full document numbers, or provider screenshots through ordinary support forms, email, chat, or BorrowHive messages.
What Redaction Does Not Change
Redaction removes or limits provider-held identity evidence according to provider policy. BorrowHive may still preserve legally required non-PII audit references for payments, tax, trust-safety, account deletion, and dispute records.
Verified-person status is not a background check, not a credit check, not an address guarantee, not a guarantee of safe behavior, and not a BorrowHive endorsement.
