Address and location privacy on BorrowHive
BorrowHive asks for your full address when you save or verify a location. We use it to determine your neighborhood or nearby browsing area and which location-based features are available.
Your full address stays private in your account and listing settings. On public discovery and community pages, we show a broader location instead.
What other members may see
Depending on the feature and your visibility settings, other members may see a general location, such as your neighborhood, city, or nearby area. We don't show your full saved street address on public pages or cards that other members can see.
Later in a transaction, we may share exact pickup or return details for an approved handoff or another step that clearly explains why they're needed. Changing where you browse won't change your primary saved location or the locations associated with your tools.
Location evidence and identity are different
A location check can help show that a profile, tool, or physical label is tied to an eligible area. It is not a government-ID check, proof of residence, background check, credit check, endorsement, or exact-address guarantee.
Identity verification is separate. It may compare a government ID with a selfie or liveness check, but it does not make a saved address public or verify future locations.
Update a saved location
Use the location settings in BorrowHive to correct an address or choose a different browsing area. Do not send government-ID images, selfies, full document numbers, payment details, or unrelated sensitive records in a support message when correcting a location.
