Payment, deposit, and payout security on BorrowHive

When paid features are available, enter card, bank, or payout-account details only in the payment or payout form shown for the transaction. Do not send full card numbers, bank-account details, passwords, or security codes through BorrowHive messages, feedback, rental notes, or email to support.

We keep the transaction details needed to show the status of checkouts, deposits, refunds, claims, and payouts. Our payment provider may ask for additional information to open or maintain a payment or payout account.

Authorization holds are not immediate charges

A refundable deposit authorization asks the payment provider to reserve up to the displayed amount. The hold can reduce available credit or funds while it is active, but it is not the same as a completed deposit charge.

Owners cannot charge a renter's deposit directly. We review each claim and its supporting evidence before any approved amount can be captured. A hold that is released without a charge does not become owner proceeds.

Payout setup is separate

Payout setup connects the account used to receive eligible owner proceeds. We may show whether setup is complete and whether a balance is available. Payout readiness is separate from identity verification, location review, and tool or physical-label checks.

What these controls do not promise

Payment and payout controls cannot make every transaction risk-free, insure every tool, certify a member or listing, or guarantee recovery after a dispute. Identity verification is not a background check, credit check, endorsement, address guarantee, or guarantee of safe behavior.

If a payment, deposit, claim, refund, or payout looks wrong, stop before repeating the action and contact support@borrowhive.com. Include the BorrowHive rental or transaction reference if one is shown, but do not include full card or bank details.
